The federal cabinet has accepted the newly appointed Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb’s application seeking Pakistani citizenship on Monday, state-run APP reported.
On the recommendation of the Ministry of Interior, the federal cabinet approved an application of Finance Czar Muhammad Aurangzeb – who is a citizen of the Netherlands – for again seeking Pakistani nationality.
The prime minister chaired the first meeting of the newly elected cabinet, PM Office Media Wing said in a press release.

During the cabinet meeting, PM Shehbaz also directed the immediate constitution of a committee to check the prices of daily commodities and edibles.
Muhammad Aurangzeb assumes role of Pakistan’s Finance minister
Muhammad Aurangzeb resigned as head of the Habib Bank Limited (HBL) to assume the role of the finance minister, HBL announced in a statement to the stock exchange earlier on Monday.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif picked former J. P. Morgan banker Muhammad Aurangzeb over several veterans names, including four-time finance minister Ishaq Dar.
Muhammad Nassir Salim, currently the Chief Operating Officer of HBL will assume the responsibilities of President & Chief Executive Officer of HBL, subject to the approval of the State Bank of Pakistan.
