ISLAMABAD: For Balochistan, upper Sindh, Islamabad, central and southern Punjab, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir, and surrounding hilly regions, the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has projected a rain-wind/thunderstorm with snowfall over hills during the evening and night. Most of the country is predicted to see cold, dry weather.

Northeastern Balochistan was being affected by a westerly wave, based on the synoptic scenario. March 12 (evening/night) was expected to see the arrival of another westerly wave, which was expected to engulf most of the country’s higher regions on March 13.
Most of the country saw dry or partly cloudy weather over the past 24 hours, with extremely chilly temperatures in the north. Leh and Kalam had the lowest minimum temperatures ever recorded, with a low of -4°C.
