The Punjab government has banned meetings and prison visits of all prisoners in Rawalpindi’s Central Jail Adiala including Imran Khan until the Senate election.
Due to the intelligence reports fearing terror attacks, the Punjab Home Department has ordered the IG Prisons Punjab to ban the meeting and prison visits of prisoners and extradited persons for 2 weeks.
Department of Interior Punjab informed IG Prisons Punjab Mian Farooq Nazir. According to the Home Department, law enforcement agencies have been informed about the possible threat alert regarding Central Jail Adiala.

According to reports, the Interior Department directed the Special Branch, Intelligence Bureau, and Prisons Department to conduct a security survey (search operation) inside the jail on March 13.
The Punjab government also ordered the installment of barbed wire on the boundary wall of the jail and the bomb disposal squad team to screen in and around Adiala Jail.
Security clearance of government contractors and staff working in the jail has also been ordered. It has also been directed to conduct mock emergency drills and clearance operations by police and rangers to ensure security.
In Central Jail Adiala Rawalpindi, PTI founder Imran Khan, former Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Parvez Elahi, former Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi, and other federal ministers and high profile prisoners are present.
On the other hand, political experts say that this ban has been imposed until the Senate election so that political meetings cannot be held with PTI founder Imran Khan.
Police bans media coverage outside Adiala jail
The Rawalpindi police have banned media coverage outside Adiala jail on Tuesday over the security threat. Police have directed media teams to stay away for 2km far from the jail.
According to the details, today is the day of meetings with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) founder Imran Khan.
