KARACHI: Due to an increase in crimes within their respective jurisdictions, at least six Station House Officers (SHOs) assigned to various police stations in Karachi have been suspended for the past month.
SHOs Shahrah Faisal Raja Tariq, Bilal Colony Shahzada Salim, Korangi Industrial Area Faraz, and Surjani Town Rao Nazim are among the police officials suspended due to a decline in peace and order within their respective jurisdictions, according to the information.

SHO Zaman Town Rao Rafiq has been placed on suspension due to his purported complicity in the heist. Rizwan Patel, the SHO of Orangi Town, was also fired due to subpar work.
It is important to note that at least 46 Karachi residents have died as a result of thwarting robberies thus far in 2024, with February seeing the highest number of 20 fatalities.
According to month-by-month data, February saw the highest number of killings, with 20 residents falling victim to robbers.
In January, as many as 13 people were killed by robbers while around 13 city dwellers were murdered by the dacoits in March so far.
In the most recent horrific event, armed robbers in the port city killed another young man to resist their advances.
The man, known only as Syed Rehbar, was shot and killed by armed robbers on Rashid Minhas Road. When the thief attempted to escape after the incident, citizens apprehended him and beat him to death.
Moreover, the Sindh Home Minister took notice of the incident and ordered to suspend SHO Shahrah-e-Faisal Police station
