ISLAMABAD: Former Chief Justice Tassaduq Jilani has withdrawn himself from a one-member commission formed by the federal cabinet to investigate the matter of the IHC judges’ letter.
Former CJP Tassaduq Jilani in a letter written to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that Islamabad High Court (IHC) judges have addressed the Supreme Judicial Council (SJC) and its chairman the Chief Justice of Pakistan to probe this matter.
Jilani added that it would be violative of judicial propriety for me to inquire into the matter.

Former Justice Tassaduq Jilani was appointed on March 30 to head the one-man inquiry commission to investigate into the allegations leveled by the six judges of the Islamabad High Court in their letter dated March 25, 2024.
