LAHORE: The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah of Saudi Arabia on Monday issued an update on Umrah visas ahead of Hajj 2024.
The Saudi Gazette reported that the date was pushed back from Dhul-Qida 29 to Dhul-Qida 15 by the relevant ministry.
The development comes as Saudi Arabia prepares to welcome Hajj pilgrims in the coming months.
Umrah pilgrims will leave the country before 15th Dhul-Hijjah as per the date announced by the concerned ministry.
“The date of Zul-Qaida 15 was approved, which was two weeks before the earlier announced date of Zul-Qaida 29,” the ministry said.

The move comes as part of the government’s effort to ensure the flow of pilgrims from around the world for the annual Hajj pilgrimage to the holy cities of Makkah and Madinah.
The ministry clarified that the three-month Umrah period will start from the date of issuance instead of the pre-approved period of entry into Saudi Arabia.
The project will be implemented in cooperation between the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
