Daniyal Aziz, who plans to run for the NA-75 seat, says he hasn’t discussed party tickets with any PML-N members.
Leader of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), Daniyal Aziz, who was left out of the party’s ticket allocation, is upset and will run as an independent in the highly anticipated general elections.
In an interview with a private television channel, the politician said that he would run in the polls on February 8 from his hometown of Narowal, in the NA-75 constituency. Chaudhry Anwaar ul Haq has been fielded by the PML-N in this seat.
The party has not given the seasoned politician a single ticket for either of the four provincial assembly seats or the two National Assembly seats. Conversely, Daniyal said that because he was hospitalized, he did not apply for the ticket.
“I’m going to run from NA-75,” he declared.
Upon being asked if he would compete not just with other political parties but also with his own party, the politician replied, “Yes, that’s right.”
Daniyal acknowledged that he had not discussed obtaining the party ticket with any members of the group. “I will definitely fight the election, my mission is to end inflation.”
According to him, his spouse will run for office independently.
After the politician’s falling out with fellow politician and fellow Narowalist Ahsan Iqbal, things went south for him and his party.
Daniyal launched a broadside at Iqbal in November of last year, claiming that his inability to rein in inflation during the previous coalition administration led by the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) had seriously tarnished the PML-N’s reputation.
He questioned why, as the chairman of the Price Monitoring Committee, the former planning minister was unable to rein in record-breaking inflation.

The party gave Daniyal a show-cause notice after he made comments disparaging a coworker, requesting that he provide an explanation for his remarks within a week.
The lawmaker claimed today that despite speaking out in favor of the public, the PML-N had awarded the ticket to a “unknown man” who is not a member of the party.
There’s power politics going on. The elderly have made their voices heard. The former minister claimed that they had grown obstinate.
He went on to say that inflation is the biggest problem facing the populace. “I will contest the election, as inflation has to be eliminated.”
