Former mayor of Karachi Mustafa Kamal will challenge PML-N’s Shehbaz Sharif from NA-242 on a MQM-P ticket.
KARACHI: On Thursday, the Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) unveiled a list of the party’s candidates running for seats in the National Assembly from Karachi. The 16 candidates from MQM-P would run for 18 NA seats in the megalopolis.
According to the list, MQM-P would field Aasia Ishaque from NA-232, Javed Hanif from NA-233, Muhammad Abubakar from NA-234, Iqbal Mahsud from NA-235, and Hassan Sabir from NA-236 constituencies of Karachi, in that order, starting from the lower number of NA seats to the higher number.

Arshad Vohra for NA-240, Abdul Rauf Siddiqui for NA-237, Sadiq Iftikhar for NA-238, and Dr. Farooq Sattar for NA-241 in district South will all run for office.
Mustafa Kamal, Senior Deputy Convener of MQM-P, will run for the NA-242 hot seat in the Keamari district. The party has been coerced by the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz to drop its nominee in favor of Shehbaz Sharif, the former prime minister.

NA-243 will be represented by Humayun Usman, NA-244 by Farooq Sattar, NA-255 by Hafizuddin, NA-246 by Aminul Haque, and NA-247 by Mustafa Kamal.
Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, the convener of MQM-P, will represent the party in the NA-248 seat in district Central. Ahmed Saleem Siddiqui will run in NA-249, and Farhan Chishti in NA-250.
A contender for the NA seat in Lyari was not given a NA ticket by the party.
