Islamabad: After the recent reduction in the prices of roti and naan, the Punjab government is now focusing on reducing the prices of bakery products.
As per the details, Provincial Food Minister Bilal Yaseen presided over a meeting in this regard which was attended by key officials and representatives of bakery association and various brands.
Yaseen highlighted the significant drop of 48% in wheat and flour prices during the last two months. He further said that the prices of bakery products will be reduced in the next few days.
Yaseen set a May 27 deadline for stakeholders to voluntarily reduce prices, otherwise warning of tougher measures.

Last week, CM Punjab Maryam Nawaz announced a further reduction in the price of bread/naan, setting it at Rs 10. 14 across the province.
The Food Minister of Punjab had earlier said that the price of 20 kg of flour has been reduced by Rs 2. 1,300 He added that the price of an 80 kg bag of fine flour has been reduced by Rs.10. 2,770 and a 50 kg bag of semolina Rs. 1,700.
