Islamabad: India supported Israel in its brutal war in Gaza, and now there are reports that New Delhi has supplied Tel Aviv with advanced drones as well as other indigenous weapons.

Reports shared by Israel’s Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper claim that Israel has received 900 drones and other weapons from India. It said military-grade drones were modified for Israeli use during the Gaza war.

It said the factory in the southern Indian city of Hyderabad is a joint venture between Elbit Systems and Gautam Adani’s consortium. It also stated that India has supplied artillery shells and other weapons to Israel.

Former Israeli ambassador to India, Daniel Carmon, also shared the development, saying that the Modi government is supplying weapons to Israel in the Gaza conflict as a token of gratitude for Israel’s support during the 1999 Kargil war.

He said that during the Kargil war, Israel provided military equipment to New Delhi and now India is also retaliating.

Last month, Spain intercepted a cargo ship bound for Israel from India, which was carrying military equipment.

More than 37,626 people have been killed in Gaza since October last year, the health ministry in the besieged enclave said. More than 86,000 people have been injured in air and ground attacks by Israeli forces.
