Senate approves resolution to declare September 7th as national holiday

ISLAMABAD: In a historic move, the Senate of Pakistan has unanimously approved a resolution demanding the government to declare September 7th as a national holiday to commemorate the Finality of Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) Day.

This day marks the anniversary of the 1974 declaration that Ahmadis (Qadianis) are non-Muslims.

Senator Maulana Ataur Rahman presented the resolution, which was presided over by Deputy Chairman Syedal Khan. The resolution highlighted the significance of September 7, 1974, as a triumph for Muslims globally, culminating in a long struggle.

The Senate has urged the government to officially observe this day and declare a national holiday to honor the occasion. The resolution was passed unanimously, followed by the adjournment of the Senate session indefinitely.

This move aims to recognize the importance of September 7th in Pakistan’s history and its significance for Muslims worldwide, solidifying the country’s commitment to upholding Islamic values and principles.
