PESHAWAR: The authorities have decided to suspend mobile phone service in some areas of Peshawar on the occasion of the schedule of Medical and Dental College Entrance Test (MDCAT) on September 22.
Commissioner Peshawar said that mobile phone service will not be available for four hours near all the examination centers across the city.
He said that a letter has been sent to the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) in this regard, adding that the decision is aimed at preventing cheating and other illegal activities during the test.
The commissioner said that jammers will be installed inside and outside the examination halls to block mobile phone signals.
He further said that Section 144 has also been imposed to prevent common citizens from standing near the centres.
He said that the SP Security has been asked to plan the deployment of male and female police personnel for the security of the examination staff and candidates.
Khyber Medical University Peshawar will conduct MDCAT 2024 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Various centers will be set up across the city to conduct the test.
