BANNU: Eleven police officers in Bannu have been dismissed from service by the District Police Officer (DPO) due to their ongoing protests against the arrest of a former colleague.
The protesting officers had also refused to participate in the polio vaccination campaign as a form of protest.
The dismissed officers include Head Constables Sher Aslam and Mir Zaman and Constables, Zaheenullah, Fareedullah, Tauseefullah, Hazratullah, M. Qayyaz, Bakhtiar, Farman Ullah, and Anwar Ali.
In addition, this decision follows a formal notice issued to the control room regarding the protesting policemen. The DPO’s action highlights the importance of maintaining law and order, as well as upholding the integrity of police duties.
In another development, two traffic wardens were suspended for issuing a challan to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) MPA Sher Ali Afridi, who had violated traffic laws in Peshawar.
The MPA had complained about the wardens’ behavior, citing inappropriate language. These incidents underscore the need for police accountability and adherence to protocol.
