DUBAI: Dubai’s Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) has launched an innovative initiative called the “Learner’s Passport” to track the educational progress of every newborn in Dubai.
This groundbreaking project, developed in collaboration with the Dubai Health Authority, aims to ensure every child’s right to education.
The Learner’s Passport will register children of compulsory school age, monitor their school enrollment, and take prompt action if a child is not enrolled, guaranteeing that no child is denied education.
From birth, children will be entered into the system, providing parents with clear information on available educational stages, including local nurseries.
KHDA Director-General Aisha Miran emphasized the significance of early childhood education, noting that the enrollment rate of Emirati children in early childhood centers is below the global average, impacting their development and academic success.
Remarkably, 90% of a child’s brain develops between birth and age five, making this period crucial for future academic achievement.
The Learner’s Passport will empower parents with comprehensive details about educational options, enabling them to make informed decisions about their children’s education.
This initiative is part of the “Education Strategy 2033” and represents a significant step forward in Dubai’s commitment to providing high-quality education to its future generations.
