ISLAMABAD: The federal government has declared three public holidays in twin cities — Islamabad and Rawalpindi — on October 14, 15, and 16 (Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday) in the wake of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif approved three holidays within the territorial limits of Islamabad Capital Territory and Rawalpindi District, a notification issued by the cabinet decision said.
According to the notification, “The Prime Minister has been pleased to declare 14th, 15th, and 16th October 2024, as closed holidays to facilitate the smooth conduct of the 23rd Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Council of Heads of Government.
