Rawalpindi – Given that Pakistan is dealing with a new wave of terrorism ahead of elections, intelligence sources have expressed concern over growing terror threats in the country’s major cities.

The police and other law enforcement agencies are on high alert as a result of intelligence information regarding possible terrorist actions by armed groups, such as the Taliban.

Authorities increased security across the country after reports surfaced that some 17 suicide bombers were assigned to target important cities.

The warning revealed TTP leadership plots to carry out terror operations in Pakistani cities. Reports claim that TTP received funding from Afghan officials.

During the strikes, law enforcement authorities were the target of TTP and its affiliate groups using advanced weaponry such as rocket launchers and night vision goggles.

Additionally, reports imply that Baloch armed organizations, potentially with assistance from Indian intelligence, intend to target nearby towns, law enforcement, and police.

Security at sites and city entrances and exits has been stepped up in response to the threats.
