ISLAMABAD: Only one day after the announcement, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) decided to postpone the intra-party polls, according to people aware of the situation on Friday.
According to the sources, the Chief Organizer was called by the party leadership, who asked that the intra-party elections be postponed. Due to their participation in the general elections, the party members also asked for the intra-party elections to be postponed.

Following the general elections on February 8, PTI would release a new calendar for intra-party elections. Prior to this, the PTI declared that it would hold internal elections on February 5.

A official calendar of elections within the party has been released by PTI Federal Election Commissioner Rauf Hassan. PTI’s central body had given Chief Election Commissioner Rauf Hassan and Election Commission members approval for intra-party elections one day prior to their announcement. An agreement to hold intra-party elections in 15 days was also agreed in accordance with the party constitution.
