LAHORE: Rehana Dar, the independent candidate backed by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, filed a writ suit in the Lahore High Court (LHC) contesting the NA-71 election results.
Rehana cited Khawaja Asif, the returning officer, the Election Commission, and other parties as respondents in her plea, refusing to acknowledge the success of the PML-N candidate.
She contended that Khwaja Asif was named the winner in Form 47, but he had acknowledged defeat in Form 45. Khwaja Asif was officially pronounced the winner by the returning officer. Form 45 results are currently accessible.
