LAHORE: The Punjab government has issued new directives for private schools to prepare for the upcoming summer season, focusing on safeguarding children from harsh weather conditions.
Schools are required to conduct a whitewash of their premises, ensure uninterrupted electricity, and provide clean drinking water for students and staff. Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) of the education department in every district will monitor compliance and implementation of these instructions.
Additionally, the School Education Department revised summer working hours for government schools, effective April 1 to April 15.
Morning shift schools will operate from 7:30 am to 1:00 pm, while second shift schools will run from 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm, with adjusted hours on Fridays.
This decision aims to protect students and maintain a conducive learning environment amidst rising summer temperatures.
