WhatsApp is introducing a new conversation memory function for the Meta AI chatbot, which is now available to certain beta testers with the newest WhatsApp beta for Android 2.25.11.13 update.
The new capability allows users to expressly teach Meta AI to recall specific details.
For example, if a user tells the chatbot that they work as a graphic designer and asks it to remember this information, Meta AI will save it and use it to make personalized recommendations, such as productivity tools, useful design software, or industry trends.
This enables the chatbot to provide increasingly relevant information over time, making conversations more natural and personalised.
This feature is especially valuable for customers who frequently request personalized recommendations, since it allows Meta AI to adjust its replies based on previously stated preferences.
This amount of customization helps the chatbot feel more like a personal assistant who truly understands the user’s preferences and lifestyle.
It is vital to note that Meta AI will only remember information that users voluntarily share with it. The chatbot cannot access messages exchanged in other WhatsApp chats since they are end-to-end encrypted.
Furthermore, users have complete control over what Meta AI remembers since they may review, amend, or remove stored data at any moment to ensure that their preferences are correct and up to date.
This functionality was initially introduced by Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg and is now being progressively rolled out to a larger audience outside of the test program.
