
LAHORE: An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in Lahore sentenced three accused to seven years in prison each in a case related to a honey trap and blackmailing of writer Khalilur Rehman Qamar.
As per details, ATC Judge Arshad Javed on Monday delivered the verdict, sentencing three accused, while acquitting eight others.
Amna Urooj, Mamnoon Haider, and Zeeshan Shah were sentenced to seven years in prison each for demanding ransom.
However, the court noted that the charges of kidnapping could not be proven against them.
The ATC judge, Arshad Jawed, acquitted the alleged mastermind of the plot, Hasan Shah, along with eight other accused individuals in the case.
Among others acquitted are Hafiz Iqbal, Falak Sher, Qaiser Abbas, Tanveer Ahmed, Rasheed Ahmed, and Yasir Ali.
Meray Paas Tum Ho writer claimed that he was abducted and robbed in Lahore. On the same day, the Lahore police busted a 12-member gang, including the prime female suspect, that allegedly kidnapped and robbed him.
In September, Qamar filed an application for the return of his belongings in the honey trap-blackmail case.
