
RAWALPINDI: In the fifth match of Pakistan Super League (PSL) 10, Islamabad United defeated Peshawar Zalmi by a huge margin of 102 runs.
In this match being played at the Pindi Cricket Stadium, Peshawar Zalmi failed to achieve the mountainous target of 244 runs set by Islamabad and the entire team returned to the field after scoring 141 runs.
For Peshawar Zalmi, captain Babar Azam failed to take a big turn once and was dismissed after scoring just runs. After Babar, the other batsmen who came after him also proved to be a wall of sand in front of the Zalmi bowlers.
Muhammad Haris put up a little resistance and was dismissed after playing a brilliant innings of 87 runs. For Islamabad, Imad Wasim took three wickets while Shadab Khan took two wickets.
Earlier, Islamabad United won the toss and decided to bat against Peshawar Zalmi.
After the first wicket fell early, Sahibzada Farhan and Colin Munro put on a blistering 144-run partnership, which laid the foundation for a big total for the team.
Sahibzada Farhan scored his first century in the PSL, scoring 106 runs off 52 balls. His innings included 5 sixes and 13 fours.
Colin Munro was out for 40, Azam Khan for 16 and Salman Ali Agha for 30, while Jason Holder was unbeaten on 20 and Ben Dorshis was unbeaten on 18.
Hussain Talat and Alzarri Joseph took two wickets each for Peshawar Zalmi.
Both teams made changes to their squads. George Linda has been included in the Peshawar Zalmi team in place of Max Bryant.
While Saad Masood and Ben Dorshis have been included in the Islamabad United team in place of Mohammad Shahzad and Riley Meredith.
Islamabad United’s team consists of captain Shadab Khan, Colin Munro, Andres Goss, Sahibzada Farhan, Salman Ali Agha, Azam Khan, Jason Holder, Imad Wasim, Saad Masood, Naseem Shah and Ben Dorshis.
Peshawar Zalmi is captained by Babar Azam while its other players include Saim Ayub, Muhammad Haris, Tom Kohler-Cadmore, Mitchell Owen, Hussain Talat, George Linda, Alzarri Joseph, Muhammad Ali, Safyan Muqim and Ali Raza.
