ISLAMABAD: Unofficial results from Thursday’s re-poll in the PS-18, PK-90, and NA-88 constituencies showed that two independent candidates and one IPP candidate had won the election.
According to the unofficial results of all 188 voting places in the constituency, independent candidate Jam Mehtab Dahar became victorious in Ghotki’s PS-18 seat following the completion of the vote tallying at two polling places. Dahar received 57,878 votes, while Sardar Shehryar, the PPP candidate, received 55,678 votes.
Polling for the PK-90 constituency was conducted at 25 polling places in the Kohat district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. According to the unofficial results from all 169 voting places, independent candidate Aftab Alam, who was sponsored by the PTI, emerged victorious after the vote count. With 45,970 votes, he defeated PPP’s Amjad Afridi, who received 34,364 votes.

The vote tallying in Khushab’s NA-88 concluded at the 26 polling places in a rerun election. Complete unofficial results from every polling place in the constituency show that Gul Asghar, the candidate for the Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party, won with 87,805 votes. With 70,186 votes, independent candidate Moazzam Sher came in second.

Voting took place from 8 a.m. till 5 p.m.
The Election Commission ordered re-polling in response to many infractions during the general elections on February 8th, thus voters in those particular regions were exercising their right to select candidates once more.

Earlier this week, Provincial Election Commissioner Punjab Ejaz Anwar Chauhan chaired a meeting in Lahore where he examined the arrangements for re-election at 26 voting places in NA-88 Khushab.
