LAHORE: In response to improved weather conditions following severe cold waves and rains, Punjab authorities have announced new school hours effective from February 1, 2024. Boys’ schools in Lahore and other cities will operate from 8:30 am to 2:30 pm, while girls’ schools will run from 8:15 am to 2:15 pm. On Fridays, classes for boys’ schools will conclude at 12:15 pm and for girls’ schools at 12 pm.
The decision aims to provide a conducive learning environment while accommodating schools with double shifts. This comes after December 2023 and January 2024 saw school closures due to severe smog and cold weather, resulting in postponed exams.
