Peshawar Zalmi Clinches Victory Over Multan Sultans in Thrilling PSL Encounter


Multan: In an exhilarating match at the picturesque Multan Cricket Stadium, Peshawar Zalmi emerged victorious over Multan Sultans by a narrow margin of five runs in the ninth Pakistan Super League (PSL) season.

Chasing a challenging target of 180 runs set by Zalmi, Multan Sultans put up a valiant effort but ultimately fell short, losing two crucial wickets on the last two balls of the final over. Dawid Malan led the charge for Multan with an impressive 52 runs, supported by Yasir Khan’s contribution of 43 runs. However, it was not enough to secure victory for Multan Sultans.

Zalmi’s bowlers delivered a stellar performance, with Arif Yaqoob leading the pack with three crucial wickets. Luke Wood, Naveen-ul-Haq, and Salman Irshad also made significant contributions, each claiming two wickets, while Paul Walter chipped in with one wicket. Luke Wood’s exceptional all-round performance earned him the title of player of the match.

Earlier in the match, after winning the toss and electing to bat first, Zalmi’s batsmen put up a commendable display, posting a competitive total of 179/8 in their allotted 20 overs. Despite losing Saim Ayub early in the powerplay, Haseebullah Khan top-scored with 37 runs, followed by skipper Babar Azam’s contribution of 31 runs.

With this victory, Multan Sultans maintain their undefeated streak and lead the table with six points. Meanwhile, Peshawar Zalmi, after securing their first win of the season, find themselves at the bottom of the standings after losing both of their matches.

PSL 2024: First public appearance of Shoaib Malik, Sana Javed after marriage


Ahead of today’s Pakistan Super League (PSL) ninth season, former captain of Pakistan Shoaib Malik and his recently married wife, actor Sana Javed, made their first-ever public appearance as a married pair upon their arrival in Multan. At around midnight, the two were seen strolling alongside one another outside the Multan airport.

In the newest league, Shoaib will play for Karachi Kings. The team’s opening game is scheduled for this Sunday at the Multan Cricket Stadium versus Multan Sultan. After announcing their marriage in January, Sana and Shoaib made their first public appearances a few weeks later, shocking fans and followers with their unanticipated coupling.
The pair shared photos from their nuptials on Instagram and X, their social media platforms.

PSL 9 opening ceremony: check who will perform


The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced on Thursday that the PSL 9 opening ceremony will held at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore on Feb 17 (Saturday).

PSL 2024 anthem “Khul Ke Khel” singer Ali Zafar and Aima Baig will perform at the ceremony. Arif Lohar and Noori will also perform at the grand opening event of the 9th season of the Pakistan Super League.

According to the officials, fireworks and a laser show will also be part of the opening ceremony. Gates swing open at 3:30 pm, with a dazzling opening ceremony kicking off at 6:30 pm on February 17, 2024, PSL said in a statement.

The ceremony will take place before the first match, between Lahore Qalandars and Islamabad United, at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium on Saturday at 6:30 PM (PST).

The much-anticipated event will be played in four cities – Karachi, Lahore, Multan, and Rawalpindi starting from Feb 17. The knock stage including the final match will take place at the National Bank Stadium in Karachi.

Throughout the 34-match tournament, Karachi will host 11 matches, including the Qualifier, two Eliminators, and the final on March 18. Lahore and Pindi Cricket Stadium in Rawalpindi will each host nine matches, while Multan will host five matches from Feb 18 to Feb 25.

LAHORE – The nation’s premier T20 cricket tournament, the Pakistan Super tournament (PSL 9), is scheduled to begin play on February 17, 2024, and fans are already vying for tickets to the highly anticipated event.

PSL 2024 Tickets

The Pakistan Cricket Board declared two weeks prior to play that PSL 9 tickets would go on sale on February 6, 2024 (Tuesday). On February 6 at 5:00 p.m., fans who can’t wait a whole year to see their favourite players play can get tickets in advance online.

PSL9 tickets will be available for grab on pcb.tcs.com.pk

This year, all PSL 9 matches will require physical tickets (hard copies), and e-tickets—or tickets in any digital format—will not be accepted for the duration of the competition, according to Cricket Board officials.

Fans are advised to visit specific TCS express centres starting on February 12, 2024, in order to obtain the physical tickets. Online ticket buyers can have physical copies delivered to their homes or picked up from TCS-designated pick-up locations in the interim.

PSL-9 Ticket Prices

For this year, General Ticket will cost Rs1,000, First Class tickets will be available at Rs2,000. Premium Ticket price stands at Rs3,000 and VIP stands will be available at Rs6,000.

Final ticket prices are different. The tickets for the final, to be played on 18 March at the National Bank Stadium are PKR 8,000 (VIP), PKR 4,000 (Premium), PKR 2,500 (First class) and PKR 1,000 (General).

The tickets for the qualifier will be sold for PKR 5,000 (VIP), PKR 2,500 (Premium), PKR 1500 (First class) and PKR 750 (General) while tickets for the two eliminators have been priced at PKR 5,000 (VIP), PKR 3,000 (Premium), PKR 1500 (First class) and PKR 750 (General).
