Murree Snowfall Update: PDMA issues alert for tourists


Islamabad: In anticipation of an upcoming spell of snowfall in Pakistan’s renowned hill station Murree and its surrounding regions, the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has issued a proactive alert to ensure the safety of tourists and residents alike.

The PDMA has taken decisive measures to mitigate any potential risks posed by the inclement weather conditions, ordering all relevant departments to remain vigilant and prepared. As a new westerly wave is expected to sweep across the nation, Murree and its neighboring areas are gearing up for cold temperatures and heavy snowfall.

In light of the forecasted stormy rain and snowfall, visitors have been advised to exercise caution and take necessary precautions while traveling to Murree, Galiyat, and adjacent areas over the weekend and in the days ahead.

The PDMA spokesperson has indicated a high likelihood of showers and snowfall, estimating a probability of over 70 percent on February 19. With the administration in Murree maintaining a state of high alert, all departments are actively disseminating information to tourists through various channels.

In a concerted effort to facilitate tourists, over a dozen tourist facilitation centers have been established at strategic locations to provide assistance and guidance to visitors.
