Shooting at Waffle House results in Woman’s death and Five injured

Following a shooting at a Waffle House restaurant, five people were injured, and on Monday, local officials in Indianapolis reported that at least one woman had passed away from her wounds. The event occurs one day after the first reports of domestic violence led to the deaths of three Burnsville, Minnesota, officials.

The gunman’s cause of death was not disclosed, but the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA) said on Sunday that he had also passed away.

A mass shooting at the Kansas City Chiefs Super Bowl parade in Kansas City, Missouri, last week also left one person dead and numerous others injured. The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department said in a statement on Monday that “at around 12:30am, officers responded to a report of a shooting at the restaurant on Lynhurst Drive.”

Along with five other very ill patients, a woman was also taken to the hospital, but she was eventually declared dead. Three men and another women were also hurt; they are currently listed as being in stable condition. The sixth victim, who was considered gravely injured, went to the hospital on his own after suffering gunshot wounds, according to the police.

Authorities are thinking that a fight between two groups is what led to the shooting at Waffle House. It is still unknown if the shooting victims had any involvement with the use of guns. According to Indianapolis police captain Don Weilhammer, “at least one handgun was recovered on the scene of the Waffle House.” “What preliminary [information] we have is this was a disturbance which turned into a fight between two groups of people,” Weilhammer told Fox59.

“Another gun was recovered from [a] car at a local hospital.” Speaking on behalf of the restaurant chain, Waffle House stated that it was sending all inquiries regarding the shooting to the local law police, adding, “We are cooperating fully with the ongoing law enforcement investigation into this incident.

Following accusations of domestic abuse in Burnsville, Minnesota on Sunday, at least two police officers and a paramedic were shot and killed. This was just before the shooting incident. The gunman was also deceased, according to the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA), however they did not say how he passed away.

The deceased authorities were recognized as 40-year-old firefighter-paramedic Adam Finseth and 27-year-old Paul Elmstrand and Matthew Ruge.
