Justice Naeem Akhtar Afghan on Monday was sworn in as judge of the Pakistan Supreme Court in an oath-taking ceremony held in Islamabad.
Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Qazi Faez Isa administered the oath to the appointed judge of the Apex Court.
Judges of the Supreme Court, senior lawyers, and the court staff attended the oath-taking ceremony in courtroom number one of the Supreme Court of Pakistan.

Justice Naeem Akhtar Afghan was serving as the Chief Justice Balochistan High Court from August 9, 2021, before being appointed to the Supreme Court.
Last week, former president Arif Alvi approved the appointment of Justice Afghan to the country’s top court under Article 175(A) of the Constitution.
Meanwhile, under Article 196, Justice Muhammad Hashim Khan Kakar is poised to become the acting chief justice of the Balochistan High Court (BHC).
