In a historic move, the Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development has established the first Protectorate of Emigrants Office in Islamabad, state-run APP reported.

According to APP, citing sources said that this ground-breaking initiative not only demonstrates the government’s commitment to guaranteeing the welfare of its residents seeking jobs overseas, but it also puts Islamabad as a hub for international collaboration on labour and migration issues.

After the recent opening of two protectorate offices in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), in Bagh and Rawalakot, authorities inaugurates the Islamabad Protectorate Office to further amplify the government’s efforts in streamlining migration services across the country.

In a statement, the state-run media agency highlighted the strategic importance of establishing the Protectorate in Islamabad, a city that hosts numerous international organizations, including labor and migration entities as well as foreign embassies.

“The inauguration of the Islamabad Protectorate Office is not just a milestone for our capital but a testament to Pakistan’s resolve in championing the causes of safe and legal migration globally”, it added.

According to the sources privy to the information, the Islamabad Protectorate Office is set to become a model for migration services, offering comprehensive support to individuals seeking overseas employment opportunities.
