LAHORE: Parvez Elahi, the president of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and a former chief minister of Punjab, broke his bone when he fell in the jail’s restroom in Adiala. It came to light when a medical report was given by the deputy superintendent of Adiala Jail in an anti-corruption court while a case involving unauthorized recruitments in the Punjab Assembly was being heard.

The judge was notified by the deputy superintendent that yesterday, March 17, the former chief minister suffered a fracture after falling in the restroom. Owing to his nonattendance, the court continued the procedures pertaining to Elahi and other defendants’ indictment and continued the case to April 4. The former chief minister has spent several months in detention on several charges.
