PESHAWAR: At least 17 people have died and 23 others injured due to recent rain-related incidents in different parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa as rains continued to lash for the last three days.
According to the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA), nine men including three women and five children killed while the injured included nine men, three women, and 11 children.
Similarly, around 116 houses were damaged including 100 houses partially and 16 completely damaged, while 148 cattle perished.
Director General PDMA has directed district administrations to provide financial relief to rain-affected people on an emergent basis, apart from that the restoration work on affected roads has also started. Moreover, relief activities are underway in the affected districts of Malakand, Peshawar, Bannu, and Kohat divisions.

PDMA said that life and property damages were reported from Bajaur, Swat, Mansehra, Battagram, Dir Lower Malakand, Lakki Marwat, Kohat, Orakzai, Shangla, Dir Upper, Buner, Lower Chitral, Nowshera, Mohmand and North Waziristan.
Earlier on Monday, Provincial Disaster Management Authority said, ten people were killed and 14 others sustained injuries in different incidents of roof collapses caused by recent heavy rainfall in the KP.
National Disaster Management Authority issued a nationwide alert on Friday, cautioning against severe weather conditions expected to persist until April 29 (Monday).
