ISLAMABAD: Muslims around the world, including Pakistan, are set to celebrate Eid ul Adha on the 10th of the Islamic month Zilhajj.
In Pakistan, Eid-ul-Adha is expected to fall on June 17 and citizens can expect extended holidays this Eid.
The official 2024 holiday calendar has mentioned the Eidul Adha holidays from June 17 (Monday) to June 19 (Wednesday). However, the final decision regarding holidays will be announced after the moon sighting by the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee.
In a statement, the Climate Data Processing Centre of PMD has indicated a strong possibility of moon sightings on Friday, June 7.
According to astronomical parameters, PMD said that there is a good chance of sighting the new moon of Zilhij 1445 AH on the evening of June 07 i.e. on the 29th of Ziquad 1445 AH.
According to the climate record, the weather is expected to be partly cloudy/fair in most parts of the country.
“The moon’s age in Karachi at sunset will be 26 hours and 8 minutes,” the PMD stated, adding that “the moon is expected to be visible for 72 minutes after sunset.”
