ISLAMABAD: The Foreign Office of Pakistan has confirmed that it is in close contact with Iranian authorities following the tragic death of eight Pakistani nationals in Iran’s Sistan and Balochistan province.
The incident, which took place in a remote workshop several kilometers away from populated areas, has been condemned immediately and justice has been demanded from both sides. The Iranian embassy in Islamabad expressed deep sorrow over the deaths, confirming that the deceased were Pakistani nationals.
The spokesperson further assured that anyone involved in the crime “will be brought to justice and punished to the fullest extent.” Iranian authorities have pledged full cooperation with Pakistani authorities and are working to repatriate the bodies of the victims without delay.
In response, the Pakistani Foreign Office expressed deep concern and reiterated its commitment to assist the families of the victims. The Foreign Office spokesperson said that we are aware of the tragic incident and are in close contact with the Iranian authorities. “Once verified information is available, an official statement will be issued.”
Pakistan’s embassy in Tehran and its consulate in Zahedan are actively communicating with Iranian authorities to gather detailed information. Diplomatic sources revealed that the Pakistani government is closely monitoring the developments and will assist Iran in ensuring justice is served.
