The three Islamabad constituencies’ successful candidates will once again receive the postponed notifications, according to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP).
The Election Commission first halted the notifications on January 11 in response to an Islamabad High Court injunction. This decision follows that action.
Under Section 98-1 of the Elections Act 2017, the Pakistani Election Commission has reinstated the notification of victory for the PML-N candidates who won NA-46, NA-47, and NA-48. As a result, the announcement of victory for PML-N candidates Anjum Aqeel from NA-46, Tariq Fazal Chaudhry from NA-47, and Raja Khurram Nawaz, an independent supported by the party from NA-48, was reinstated.

The chosen candidates gave interviews to the media outside of the ECP, expressing their happiness with the outcome. Tariq Fazal Chaudhry underscored that they had contacted the electoral commission to request favorable rulings, stressing the significance of having their notifications restored.
Chaudhry went on to discuss the purported propaganda that is still going on around the three constituencies, bringing up the IHC’s recent suspension of the notifications on February 19. He said that the electoral commission’s judgment had reversed the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) decision to stop the notifications due to fraud and misinformation.

Chaudhry conveyed gratitude to the Election Commission of Pakistan for their action, adding that their notifications had been reinstated and that this confirmed their victory in their respective constituencies. Nawaz claimed that the PTI had misrepresented the fact that their candidates were not permitted to enter the RO’s offices and that it was improper to post and harass images of public servants on social media.
The announcements have been reinstated, which is a big step forward for Islamabad’s election system and gives the winning candidates legitimacy. Restored notifications allow elected officials to take on their duties and contribute to the representation and governance of the nation’s capital city while the political climate continues to change.
