Justice Malik Shahzad Ahmed Khan has been unanimously appointed as Chief Justice of the Lahore High Court by the Judicial Commission of Pakistan.
Justice Malik Shahzad Ahmed Khan has been elevated to the office of Chief Justice as Justice Muhammad Ameer Bhatti is due to retire on March 8.

Justice Malik Shahzad Ahmed Khan was appointed as judge of the Lahore High Court on May 12, 2011, and he will retire on March 14, 2025.
Justice Naeem Akhtar Afghan appointed as Supreme Court judge
According to the sources privy to the information, the judicial commission has also approved the elevation of Balochistan Chief Justice Naeem Akhtar Afghan to the Supreme Court.
“Both names have been sent to the parliamentary committee after approval of the judicial commission,” said the sources.
The Judicial Commission approved both the names and sent the matter to the parliamentary committee. It was decided to make Naeem Akhtar Afghan a judge of the Supreme Court.
