Gold Prices Rise by Rs 1,400 per Tola in Pakistan

Gold prices in Pakistan increased on Monday, October 26, as the domestic market recorded gains across gold and silver rates, according to figures issued by the All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association (APGJSA).

The price of 24-karat gold rose by Rs 1,400 per tola to Rs 423,436. On Saturday, the metal had been trading at Rs 422,036 per tola after falling by Rs 2,500 during that session.

The latest increase also pushed up prices for smaller quantities of gold. The rate for 10 grams of 24-karat gold climbed by Rs 1,201 to Rs 363,028, while 10 grams of 22-karat gold increased by Rs 1,101 to Rs 332,787.

International prices also moved higher. Gold gained $14 to reach $4,009 per ounce, according to the reported market figures.

Silver prices followed a similar upward trend in the domestic market. The price of silver rose by Rs 20 per tola to Rs 5,878, while the rate for 10 grams increased by Rs 17 to Rs 5,039. International silver prices stood at $54 per ounce, up $0.20.

The latest movement comes after Saturday’s decline in local gold prices, highlighting the day-to-day changes that buyers and sellers continue to monitor in the precious metals market.

For consumers, higher gold prices can affect jewellery purchases, wedding-related expenses and other decisions involving the metal. Even a relatively small change per tola can influence the final cost of an item, depending on its weight and design. Silver buyers may also face higher costs following Monday’s increase.

Market participants generally watch international prices alongside domestic rates when assessing changes in precious metals. However, the figures reported by the APGJSA represent the association’s price series and should be distinguished from rates published by other tracking platforms.

Monday’s figures show gains in both gold and silver, with gold recovering from its previous session’s decline. Whether prices continue to rise or move in the opposite direction will depend on subsequent market developments.
