Actor Noreen Gulwani has shared her experiences on marriage, financial independence and respect in relationships between men and women, and how it is essential to understand and be kind to build healthy relationships.
During a recent interview, Gulwani stated that the attitude of being on top of the world must not be adopted when getting paid. She added, financial independence provides confidence in women, but it should not turn into an attitude of ‘ego’ and unnecessary tension.
Meanwhile, women have a crucial role to play with dignity and respect, she added, if men are to have a role to play. The actor says many issues could be prevented if women were valued and spoken to nicely rather than being controlled or ignored.
When Gulwani talked about her personal life, she said she’s not married yet as she waits for the right man. She feels that marriage should be one of the mutual values and not social pressure.
The actor also urged the young people to harvest their twenties for learning and discovering rather than catering to the expectations of the society. She believes that before making big decisions in life, each individual should know their own objectives and personality.
Gulwani said that the things she dreams of are living life more in tune with nature and raising a family that is not attached to the city grind. She stated that she wished to get a life mate of the same vision.
Talking about her career, Gulwani said that she had studied journalism initially then went on to choose acting. She explained that theatre was her biggest passion and said that they needed to be able to think on their feet and improvise a lot for a stage performance.
The actor quoted, commenting on social media controversy, said she does not like to be a part of any confrontation online. She said she wouldn’t agree with all of the views, but she does not think that every statement should be answered publicly.
Noreen Gulwani has also acted in numerous popular Pakistani television serials such as Bakhtawar, Pyari Mona, Muhabbat Gumshuda Meri and Safar Tamam Howa, and she would like to go back once more to theatre with more productions in the future.
