LAHORE: Pakistan spinner Abrar Ahmed has moved up to second place in the latest ICC Men’s T20I Bowling Rankings, continuing his impressive run in international cricket.
The mystery spinner gained one position in the updated rankings after collecting 736 rating points, moving ahead of India’s Varun Chakaravarthy. Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan remains the world’s top-ranked T20I bowler with 753 rating points.
Abrar’s latest rise is another major milestone in his career and reflects his consistent performances for Pakistan in the shortest format of the game.
Several other Pakistani bowlers also retained strong positions in the ICC rankings. Mohammad Nawaz stayed 12th, while Salman Mirza remained in 20th place. Fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi continued to hold 30th position.
Further down the list, Usman Tariq, Sufiyan Muqeem, Saim Ayub, Shadab Khan, Haris Rauf and Abbas Afridi also featured among the world’s leading T20I bowlers.
In the batting rankings, Pakistan opener Sahibzada Farhan kept his place among the world’s best, remaining third overall. India’s Ishan Kishan climbed to the top spot, while Abhishek Sharma slipped to second.
Among other Pakistani batters, Saim Ayub, Babar Azam, Salman Ali Agha and Fakhar Zaman all remained inside the ICC rankings, with Fakhar moving up one position.
Pakistan also continued to make an impact in the all-rounders’ rankings. Saim Ayub held on to third place, while Mohammad Nawaz, Shadab Khan, Faheem Ashraf, Salman Ali Agha and Shaheen Shah Afridi also secured places in the latest list.
The updated rankings underline Pakistan’s growing strength in T20 cricket as several players continue to feature among the world’s top performers.
