Buying a Toyota Corolla Cross Hybrid has become significantly more expensive after fresh price revisions linked to changes in Pakistan’s tax policy for hybrid vehicles.
Toyota has increased the prices of both Corolla Cross HEV variants following the withdrawal of reduced GST on locally assembled hybrid vehicles under the Finance Act 2026-27. The revised prices have pushed the top-end Corolla Cross HEV X above the Rs10 million mark for the first time.
The standard Corolla Cross HEV now costs Rs9,849,000, up from Rs8,535,000, reflecting an increase of Rs1,314,000. Meanwhile, the Corolla Cross HEV X has risen from Rs8,935,000 to Rs10,299,000, making it Rs1,364,000 more expensive than before.
New Toyota Corolla Cross HEV Prices
| Variant | Previous Price | New Price | Increase |
|---|---|---|---|
| Corolla Cross HEV | Rs8,535,000 | Rs9,849,000 | Rs1,314,000 |
| Corolla Cross HEV X | Rs8,935,000 | Rs10,299,000 | Rs1,364,000 |
The latest increase follows the end of tax concessions previously available for locally assembled hybrid and plug-in hybrid vehicles. From July 1, 2026, these vehicles became subject to the standard 25% General Sales Tax (GST), resulting in higher prices across the hybrid vehicle market.
Industry analysts believe the revised tax structure will affect more than just Toyota. Several hybrid models from brands including Honda, Hyundai, Kia, Haval, MG, Jaecoo and GWM are also expected to become more expensive as manufacturers adjust prices to reflect the higher tax burden.
Automobile dealers say the increase could influence buying decisions, with some customers delaying purchases while waiting to see whether the government introduces any relief under the upcoming automotive policy. Others may shift towards conventional petrol vehicles or explore the used-car market as hybrid models become increasingly expensive.
The price revision marks one of the biggest increases for the Corolla Cross Hybrid since its launch in Pakistan and reflects the wider impact of the government’s latest taxation policy on the local auto industry.
