A suicide bombing followed by a gun attack on an army camp in Mir Ali, North Waziristan, killed seven Pakistani soldiers and injured 13 others on October 17, 2025, according to reports by Qatar News Agency (QNA) and Pajhwok Afghan News.
The attack targeted a military installation in the volatile northwestern district of North Waziristan, which forms part of Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province and borders Afghanistan.
The incident involved a suicide bombing followed by an armed assault, resulting in casualties among Pakistani military personnel. Seven soldiers lost their lives in the attack, while 13 others sustained injuries, according to the two news organisations.
The incident underscored the continuing security challenges faced by Pakistan in its northwestern border regions, where militant violence has remained a significant concern. North Waziristan has experienced years of militancy and counterterrorism operations. Security forces have conducted operations in the area to counter armed groups and improve stability. Despite these efforts, attacks on military and security personnel have continued to pose challenges for the authorities.
